Anaheim, Calif. - Eight schools that combined to win almost two of every three games last season including Cal State Fullerton will comprise the field at the second Anaheim Classic basketball tournament to be played over Thanksgiving Weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The 12-game bracketed tourney is played on Thursday, Friday and Sunday (Nov. 27, 28 & 30) and is sponsored by ESPN Regional Televison, Inc. All games will air on ESPN2 or ESPNU.
Three of the eight teams -- Fullerton, Baylor and Saint Mary's -- advanced to last year's NCAA Tournament and three more -- Arizona State and Charlotte (NIT) and UTEP (CBI) -- played in other post-season tourneys. The other two schools are Providence and Wake Forest.
The Big West Conference again serves as the tourney hosts. Last year UC Irvine represented the conference and went 0-3.
