Carvin Withdraws From Titans’ Roster

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton sophomore point guard Chris Carvin has withdrawn from classes at the University due to an illness in his immediate family, Titans' Interim Head Coach Andy Newman announced Thursday.

"We are tremendously saddened by Chris' sudden departure," Newman said. "He has a tremendous amount of character and we know he will be successful in whatever he chooses to do in the future. As a program, we wish nothing but the best for him and his family as they battle through this trying time."

Carvin, a transfer from American River Community College in Northern California who signed with Fullerton in April, has returned home to Sacramento to tend to the matter.

He averaged 11 points and four assists for the Beavers last season, who finished 21-13 overall and 9-5 in the Big 8 Conference, and was one of six newcomers to the Titans' roster for the 2012-13 campaign.
