GAME 2: Minnesota vs. Cal State Fullerton
June 5, 2010
FULLERTON, CA -
CAL STATE FULLERTON HEAD COACH Dave Serrano
"It wasn't the way we scripted it. We have five minutes to feel sorry, and then we have to regroup."
"Take one game at a time."
"We have to get deep into our pitching."
"Good baseball game we lost. Minnesota attacked early, you have to give credit to [Minnesota starting pitcher Seth] Rosin. He was effectively wild in the strike zone.
On Fullerton Starting Pitcher Dylan Floro's nerves: "I kind of sensed it in the bullpen."
On Floro's performance: "He pitched completely good enough to win. He gave us a chance... I saw him grow in front of my eyes."
On upcoming challenge: "We have to take it one game, one inning, one pitch at a time."
"This challenge intrigues me. I have no doubt that we'll give ourselves a chance to play Monday."
CAL STATE FULLERTON PITCHER Dylan Floro
"I had a lot of 2-strike counts, but it just wasn't my night."
MINNESOTA HEAD COACH JOHN ANDERSON
"It was an outstanding college baseball game. Both pitchers really competed. We were fortunate to get three runs in the first inning. We had a lot of other opportunities... the first gave us a lift and some confidence. We played with confidence all night."
"We pitched good all year and played pretty good defense. This run, we've hit more consistently."
"We tried to approach this game the same way as all season.. not make the game bigger than it is."
"New Mexico is obviously a resilient team and has confidence. We played them at the `Dome two years ago... I'm not surprised he has built the program he has."
MINNESOTA PITCHER SETH ROSIN
"I threw a lot of fastballs....two-seamers and four-seamers... I was more into movement than velocity. I did a good job on the corners of the plate and kept them off balance."
MINNESOTA CATCHER KYLE KNUDSON
"We played last year at LSU with about 12,000 more fans... screaming and yelling at us the whole game. We`ve had a lot of experience... playing at Alabama and at Ohio State. We practice staying internal."
