PLAY BALL: Cal State Fullerton (2-2) come off a midweek win at San Diego State on Tuesday to face its long-time nemesis Stanford (2-2) in a three-game series at Goodwin Field, in a rematch of last year's Fullerton Super Regional.
The last time the Cardinal was in Fullerton, they brought with them a line-up chalked with heavy hitters and capable pitching, and left with a trip to the College World Series after a two-game sweep.
Adding insult to injury, it was the fifth game in a row that the Cardinal had taken from the Titans - all five coming in 2008.
Fast-forward a year, and both teams come together with an identical record, hitting in the .250s with ERAs over 6.30 and Fullerton hungry for some redemption.

VERSUS THE CARDINAL: The Titans trail in the all-time season series 38-53 dating back to the teams' first meeting back in 1979. The Titans lost all five meetings with the Cardinal in 2008, three in Palo Alto (5-12, 7-11, 5-6), and two at Goodwin Field during the Super Regionals (3-4, 5-8). The two teams have met 13 times in the post season with the Cardinal holding a 10-3 overall advantage, and a 7-3 advantage at the College World Series.
INJURY REPORT: Freshman Nick Ramirez will be sidelined this weekend versus Stanford with a mild right oblique strain suffered in an at bat Tuesday night at San Diego State. His status is day-to-day, but Head Coach Dave Serrano is looking for the Titans' leader in RBI to get healthy and not lose him for an extended period of time as the season progresses.
