Former Titan Favata Sponsors Baseball Opener

Fullerton, Calif. - National Consumer Mortgage Company is sponsoring Cal State Fullerton's baseball season home opener Friday night when the new Titan baseball "Ring of Honor" will be unveiled and the ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by former Los Angeles Dodgers' All-Star first baseman Steve Garvey. The Titans host UNLV at 7:05 p.m. at Goodwin Field.

The owners of NCM are Sam and Sandra Favata. Sam was the second baseman on Cal State Fullerton's first NCAA championship team in 1979 when he led the Titans with a .417 batting average. Garvey is a spokesman for NCM.

Favata is one of 38 former Titan players whose names and jersey numbers are now permanently displayed around the Goodwin Field grandstands. The complete list:
