Titans Hold First Official Fall Practice on Monday
FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton baseball program officially kicked off the 2017-18 fall campaign, as Head Coach Rick Vanderhook and the Titans held their first official fall practice on Monday.
Fullerton has every reason to be excited about the upcoming 2018 season, as it enters the new campaign coming off its 18th trip to the College World Series and its second in the last three years under Vanderhook.
"This is always an exciting time of year," said Vanderhook. "We have a lot to work on this fall and a lot of roles to fill.
"This is a time where you really get to evaluate what you have and start to find out who is going to fill what role. It's a new season and I'm excited to see what we can get out of this group."
The Titans welcome in 17 newcomers and look to rely on yet another strong recruiting class to mesh with a healthy group of returners, as they look to make their push towards their 27th consecutive postseason appearance.
The Titans began practice with some basic fielding and pitching drills before playing in their first intraquad scrimmage game of the fall. Fullerton will compete in its lone fall scrimmage vs. UNLV on Saturday, Oct. 28th at noon. Admission to the game is free.
