A 2013 graduate of Clovis North High School in Clovis, Calif…played three seasons (2011-13) of shortstop on the varsity club for head coach Chris Patrick…was named to the 2013 Fresno Bee first team twice (2012 & 2013) and led the Broncos to the CIF Central Section Division I championship in 2013 as Clovis North finished the season with a 27-6 record…as the leadoff batter, hit .320 with four home runs and a combined 51 runs and RBIs…in addition was a two-time (2012 & 2013) first team all-Tri-River Athletic Conference and two-time first team all-Valley selection…as a junior led Clovis North to a 20-11 record, and he topped the Broncos in several offensive categories, batting .376 with a .624 slugging percentage and a .488 on-base percentage…was a two-sport star for the Broncos, also starring on the football field…was named the 2012 Fresno Bee Player of the year after quarterbacking the Broncos to a 12-2 season as Clovis North won the Central Section Division I title and became the section’s first Division I team to advance to the Southern California Regionals before falling to Long Beach Poly High, 28-7…the team also received a final No. 21 state ranking by Cal-Hi Sports…on the football field, was a Cal-Hi Sports All-State selection – the only player selected from the Central Section…he departs Clovis North after setting school records for single-season passing yards (2,735) and touchdowns (26) and career passing yards (4,762) and touchdowns (44)…during his senior year, he completed 161 of 254 passes (63%) for 2,735 yards and 26 touchdowns…additional awards on the football field include: two-time team MVP (2011 & 2012), two time first team Tri-River Athletic Conference (2011 & 2012), two-time first team all-Valley selection (2011 & 2012)and first team all-state (2012)…following his senior season was named the Clovis North Athlete of the Year…and received the Bronco Award for academic honors.
