"The women had only five runners due to injuries including shin splints for Grace Gonzalez, who should be ready to go to Oklahoma next week. They competed well. Yomaira Hernandez got caught in the pack and had a difficult time catching up.

"Lexie Bravo, a sophomore transfer from UNLV, ran 47 seconds better than laat year's mark for UNLV. Gail improved 34 seconds and led the way.

"John Carrell improved by 29 seconds and Ren Jones improved 33 seonds. Brian Aleman was 47 seconds better. Tyler Reed improved only two seconds but we know what kind of quality runner he is.

"This meet showed up a lot of optimism for the men."
