FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's cross country was recognized on Thursday for their work on the course and in the classroom in 2018. The team posted an accumulative GPA of 3.13 to earn 2018 NCAA DI Cross Country All-Academic Team accolades. It was announced by the the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Along with their work in the classroom, the Titans also ran very well in the fall as they earned a runner-up finish at the Big West Championships as Samantha Huerta took second place individually to lead the women's squad to the best finish in program history at the conference championships. Lucina Vincent was also recognized by the Big West Conference as the 2018 Women's Co-Freshman of the Year. The team then finished in 11th place at the NCAA West Regionals, the best team finish since the 1995 squad also took 11th place.
All-Academic athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and finish in the top-25 at regionals or as an All-American in the national meet. For teams to earn honors they must have above a 3.0 grade-point average.
