Sims; Luther Take Center Stage for Titans on Day Two of NCAA Regionals
AUSTIN, Texas—After hours of waiting through weather delays, both Ashley Sims and Bryan Luther were finally able showcase their talents in the 200-meter dash prelims Friday night on day two of the NCAA West Regional Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Sims finished sixth in heat two and 42nd overall, running a time of 24.67 in the women's 200-meter dash prelims. Luther competed in the men's 200-meter dash prelims, recording a mark of 21.61 and placed seventh in heat five and 35th overall.
Both Sims and Luther failed to qualify for Saturday's quarterfinal race, putting an end to a couple of fantastic seasons.
Walter Whitaker is the lone Titan still yet to compete. He will take part in the men's triple jump on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. CT on the final day of regional championship action.
