SEATTLE – Freshman Wendi Leos set an indoor school record in the 5,000-meter race on Friday at the Husky Classic for Cal State Fullerton women's indoor track and field. The second day of action begins at 9 a.m. PT on Saturday.
Leos clocked a 5K time of 17:40.72 at the Husky Classic in her first collegiate 5,000-meter race to break Brianna Jacklin's record of 17:53.49 set in 2017.
"It's really good to see Wendi run a strong race after struggling in her first indoor meet two weeks ago," head coach John Elders said. "She's starting to get her mojo back and return to the form she had during her stellar cross country season."
Gabrielle De La Rosa (18:02.32) and Demi Marine (18:17.63) ran the 5K for the Titans as well. Taylor Hawkins also competed in the 200-meter sprint for CSF.
