Fullerton, Calif. - Brian Quinn has signed a three-year contract extension that will take him to just shy of one decade as director of athletics at Cal State Fullerton.
The extension extends to Nov. 8, 2011. He was hired on Jan. 12, 2002.
"I am very pleased with the confidence placed in me by Dr. (Milton) Gordon and Dr. (Robert) Palmer," said Quinn, just back from Indianapolis, Indiana, where he was meeting with his NCAA Div. I Baseball Committee.
"I love Cal State Fullerton and am very pleased with the progress and success we have had in athletics. I am very appreciative for the opportunity to work for and with Dr. Gordon and Dr. Palmer and thank them for all they do for our student-athletes, coaches and staff."
Quinn came to Fullerton from his alma mater, Loyola Marymount University, where he was executive director of development after a 13-year (1985-98) run as athletics director.
Quinn was named the Astroturf Div. I West Region Athletics Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. He has overseen the department's financial stability in trying economic times, a significant improvement in the academic performance of Titan student-athletes and a major remodel of Titan Gym among many accomplishments.
