Cal State Fullerton Celebrates National Girls and Women in Sports Day

Jan. 26, 2006

FULLERTON, CA - In honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, all girls ages 6-13 wearing a youth team jersey will be treated to free admission to the Cal State Fullerton women's basketball game against UC Davis on Saturday (Jan. 28) at 2 pm at Titan Gym on campus.

National Girls and Women in Sports Day was chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1986 to honor female athletes' achievements and recognize the importance of sports and fitness participation for all girls and women. This year marks the 20th anniversary.

On February 18, 2006, thousands of sports educators, coaches, athletics directors, association members, sponsors, students and parents across the country will show their support of the day and of this year's theme, "Count Me In." NGWSD is celebrated in all 50 states with community-based events, award ceremonies, and activities honoring the achievements and encouraging participation of girls and women in sports.

For ticket information, please contact the Cal State Fullerton Athletic Ticket Office at (714) 278-CSUF.
