Julie Bowse has returned as Cal State Fullerton's interim
compliance officer, a role she first held for five years from June
1, 2005, to 2010. She served for four years as an associate
athletics director/SWA before retiring at the end of the 2013-14
academic year. Prior to joining the administrative staff, she
served a seven-year stint as head women's gymnastics coach and 15
years with the gymnastics program.
As Julie Knight, she competed for the inaugural Titan gymnastics team in 1976 and won three All-American awards on vault, floor exercise and all-around and, in fact, was the school's first All American.
Knight has chaired three national organizations and served on the committee for the 2003 World Championships held in Anaheim. She has brevet status as an international gymnastics judge. She and her husband, Scott, live in Fullerton.
