Julie Bowse assumed her post on July 1, 2010. She had been Cal
State Fullerton's full-time compliance officer since June 1, 2005,
after stepping away from a seven-year stint as head women's
gymnastics coach and 15 years with the gymnastics program.
As Julie Knight, she competed for the inaugural Titan gymnastics team in 1976 and won three All-American awards on vault, floor exercise and all-around.
Her coaching career began at SCATS in Huntington Beach and continued with a tour at the Clovis Academy of Gymnastics and Dance in her native Central California. She returned to her college roots in 1994 as an assistant to Coach Lynn Rogers, eventually serving as associate head coach in 1999 when she was selected Big West Conference coach of the year.
Knight has chaired three national organizations and served on the committee for the 2003 World Championships held in Anaheim. She has brevet status as an international gymnastics judge. She and her husband, Scott, live in Fullerton.
